Sustainability

We try to produce as sustainably as possible to keep our footprint small. Therefore, our letterbox boxes are made of grass paper and tomato leaf pulp is the basic component of the seed bags. The printing is either made of paper that is 30-70% recycled paper or paper that comes from agricultural waste. In addition, you have the option to plant a tree when you place an order through Regreener.

Gifting

Is (part of) your order a gift for someone? Mention it in the comments and we will wrap it nicely for you.

Organic

This is an organic product from certified organic producers. Among other things, this means that they do not work with pesticides. The control regarding organic products is carried out by the SKAL.

Who doesn't want crisp juicy cucumbers in the garden? This organic variety climbs briskly up a rope, which can be done either in a greenhouse or in the open ground. The fruits grow about 30 cm long and do not contain too many seeds (which gives more flavor).

Pre-sowing April - May

Direct sowing May
Harvest
July - August

Sow indoors
From April sow indoors in well-humid soil in a P9 pot. Sow 1 or 2 seeds per pot, push them in lightly and cover with a layer of soil or vermiculite. Place in a warm place of about 20 degrees. From mid-May, you can harden off the seedlings and transplant outside in a sunny spot with a distance of 50 cm. This is a climber, make sure it has good support. Do not cut away the side shoots, this is where the fruit forms. Harvest regularly and pollinate flowers manually if necessary for more fruit. Suitable for both greenhouse and outdoor cultivation.

Direct sowing
Sow directly into the ground from mid-May. Sow 2 seeds of which you keep the strongest.

About vegetable seeds

All vegetable seeds are annuals, meaning you have to re-sow them every year, except for hardy herbs. Rosemary, thyme, sage and fennel generally survive the winter just fine.

How many hours of sunshine?

Vegetables generally like to grow in full sun. A minimum of 6 hours of sun in summer is a good guide. For annual flowers this is more, there we stick to a minimum of 8 hours of sun per day.

What soil?

Vegetables can basically be grown on any type of soil, but it varies for each type of vegetable how nutritious that soil needs to be. You can find more information about this in the description.

Seediguide

Never seeded before? We'll get you started with a Sowing Guide explaining the basics and supplies.

Storing seeds

On the package of your seeds you will find the shelf life. You can use them until the date you see on it. An opened package is best stored in an airtight box in a cool and dark place, such as a closet in the hallway. Not sure if the germination is still good? Then it's best to buy a new pack. We deliberately choose small amounts of seeds in the packs so you don't have to waste seeds. Do you have any questions about this? Call 033 - 202 43 38 or email to [email protected], and we will help you further.
