Sustainability

We try to produce as sustainably as possible to keep our footprint small. Therefore, our letterbox boxes are made of grass paper and tomato leaf pulp is the basic component of the seed bags. The printing is either made of paper that is 30-70% recycled paper or paper that comes from agricultural waste. In addition, you have the option to plant a tree when you place an order through Regreener.

Gifting

Is (part of) your order a gift for someone? Mention it in the comments and we will wrap it nicely for you.

Did you know that a broccoli is actually a giant flower bud? If you don't harvest it, each bulb of the broccoli makes a tiny yellow flower. But of course you sow this one to eat, so make sure you harvest it on time! Do not remove the plant after harvesting the first broccoli - after this, the plant makes side shoots from which you can sometimes harvest a second time.

Pre-seeding February - April

Direct sowing April - June
Harvest July - October

Sowing indoors
Preferably pre-sow broccoli between February and April in a seed tray with large compartments or P9 pots. Transplant when the cuttings have a quantity of leaves with a distance of 50 cm. Plant out in a nutritious plot of soil, keeping well moist. If necessary, protect the young plants from cabbage fly by stretching netting over them. Harvest the broccoli when the cabbage is young and has no flowers yet. If necessary, sow at several times to prolong the harvest.

Direct Sowing
Direct sowing in the open ground can be done but requires attention. Make sure the soil is well loosened and nutritious. Sow in rows and thin out as soon as the seeds germinate to a distance of 50 cm. Keep well moist.

About vegetable seeds

All vegetable seeds are annuals, meaning you have to re-sow them every year, except for hardy herbs. Rosemary, thyme, sage and fennel generally survive the winter just fine.

How many hours of sunshine?

Vegetables generally like to grow in full sun. A minimum of 6 hours of sun in summer is a good guide. For annual flowers this is more, there we stick to a minimum of 8 hours of sun per day.

What soil?

Vegetables can basically be grown on any type of soil, but it varies for each type of vegetable how nutritious that soil needs to be. You can find more information about this in the description.

Seediguide

Never seeded before? We'll get you started with a Sowing Guide explaining the basics and supplies.

Storing seeds

On the package of your seeds you will find the shelf life. You can use them until the date you see on it. An opened package is best stored in an airtight box in a cool and dark place, such as a closet in the hallway. Not sure if the germination is still good? Then it's best to buy a new pack. We deliberately choose small amounts of seeds in the packs so you don't have to waste seeds. Do you have any questions about this? Call 033 - 202 43 38 or email to [email protected], and we will help you further.
