Important delivery info

You can order these border packages as a pre-order. You can do so until November 3 We then deliver at the end of September.

You will receive your plants in P9 pots. They are still small then, but will very quickly grow big in your garden. Depending on the season, they need about 3 - 6 months to do so. Your plants will be delivered free of charge in a sturdy box. You will also receive a drawing with planting instructions.

We cannot account for absences during the scheduled delivery time. Please provide an alternative delivery address to someone who can receive the plants for you.

Are these organic plants?

The border packages consist 100% of perennials, these return every year. So you only have to plant them once. The plants are grown outdoors, with as few tools as possible. The use of pesticides cannot be 100% ruled out, which is why organic certification is not possible, but they are almost never used by our growers. Why? Because it is actually never necessary!

It's very different for nursery stock you buy at garden centers: there, the plants have to look perfect and visually appealing, making use of pesticides almost a necessity. That is not so for the plants in these border packages. These are allowed to have snapped or mottled leaves. What matters most are the roots in the pot. Do they look good? Then it is a healthy plant that will grow quickly in the garden. This is why pesticides are almost never used.

This is how to choose a border package

That's how you choose a border package that suits you:

Step 1: Select a border package based on your tastes, and the sun exposure and soil type in your garden. You'll find more information about these characteristics under the heading "What Soil Do I Have?

Step 2: Determine the size of the border you want to plant. You can choose from a border package for 3 m2, 5 m2 and 7 m2. With each size you will receive two planting plans: for a rectangular border and an organic free-standing border. You can choose which one to use.

Step 3: Place your order by Sunday, November 3, 2024. That's when the pre-order closes and we're going to make sure the plants get to us from the grower. We will deliver all border packages to your home free of charge.

With a border package you receive two drawings: one for a rectangular border, and one for an organic free-standing form. So you can choose which one fits best in your garden. Of course, you can move the layout around a bit. As long as you keep approximately the same proportions in the plan, you can't do much wrong.

What sun position do I have?

To determine the sun exposure, divide the area where you want to plant the border package based on the quantity of hours of sunshine in the summer:

Shade: less than 4 hours of sunshine per day
Semi-shade: 4 to 6 hours of sunshine per day
Full sun: more than 6 hours of sunshine per day

What soil do I have?

Roughly speaking, there are three types of soil: clay, peat and sand. Clay is heavy, malleable soil on which water remains. Peat is also a bit heavier, more acidic and allows water to pass through poorly. Sand is loose and dries out quickly. You can read more about them in this article.

In addition, it is important to know whether your soil dries up quickly or stays moist. That also matters in your choice.

Not sure what type of soil you have and what planting plan is right for your garden? Or do you need help figuring out a planting plan? Send us an email and we'll take a look with you.

Please note delivery the week of Nov. 25.

A greener city starts with you, and we like to make that easy for you. Lift a tile from the front of your house and create a facade garden that's beautiful to look at all year long, as well as providing food for insects and birds in the neighborhood. Choose one of our 8 façade gardens based on your taste as well as sun hours and soil type.

Each border package is designed by garden designer, author and MAY & JUNE founder Judith van Lent. She is known for her layer theory. Each plant has a specific role within a planting plan in one of four layers: structure layer, seasonal layer, soil layer and filler layer. The border packages are thus professionally developed, even for a facade garden that is somewhat simpler than a larger border. Where other parties simply put five types of plants together in large groups, this is a planting plan like the one we make for clients in our design studio. But for a very friendly price with plants!

- The facade gardens consist 100% of perennials that come back every year. So you only have to plant this once for years of enjoyment.
- The plants come directly from Dutch growers who grow them outdoors. Pesticides are almost never used, although that cannot be completely ruled out. See heading above "Are these organic plants?" for more explanation.
- You will find at least 1 native plant species in each plan. This makes each façade garden good for bees, butterflies and other insects.
- No (highly) toxic plants have been used unless otherwise stated.
- You can order the façade gardens in 3 sizes. They are all 1 tile 30 cm deep and 1.50 meters, 3 meters or 5 meters wide. Do you rock a tile twice? Then you can order 2 x a facade garden and glue them together creating a deeper facade garden.
