Sustainability

We try to produce as sustainably as possible to keep our footprint small. Therefore, our letterbox boxes are made of grass paper and tomato leaf pulp is the basic component of the seed bags. The printing is either made of paper that is 30-70% recycled paper or paper that comes from agricultural waste. In addition, you have the option to plant a tree when you place an order through Regreener.

Gifting

Is (part of) your order a gift for someone? Mention it in the comments and we will wrap it nicely for you.

Native

Native plants are native to our country. Plants from here can only be native if they have not been "played with," i.e., they must not have been grown on. Native planting is important for our biodiversity. Insects depend on them.

This is a product that is grown ecologically without pesticides or fertilizers, but has no certification for organic for practical reasons.

Knautia is a native plant that unfortunately is becoming less and less common in the Netherlands. They are beautiful with their lilac-purple flowers, in the evening light a pink glow falls over them. Knautia is very easy to use and gives you endless flowers. Very beautiful in a flower meadow or in your border!

Indoor pre-seeding
Pre-sow in late winter and early spring. Use seedling soil in a seedling tray. Place in a light spot of about 18 - 20 degrees. Germination can take a long time, between 2 - 4 weeks, but also much longer after that you will see seedlings growing. After germination place cold, around 8 - 10 degrees. Repot to P9 pot when seedlings are larger than 5 - 10 cm. Allow to harden off and plant out. If sown early, the plant will flower the same year, but usually not until the following summer.

Direct seeding
Direct sowing can only be done in autumn because the seeds need a cold period to grow. Sow in a loosened soil on rich, fertile soil in full sun. Cover the seeds with a layer of soil. Sowing in a row is easiest to keep an eye on germination.

About vegetable seeds

All vegetable seeds are annuals, meaning you have to re-sow them every year, except for hardy herbs. Rosemary, thyme, sage and fennel generally survive the winter just fine.

How many hours of sunshine?

Vegetables generally like to grow in full sun. A minimum of 6 hours of sun in summer is a good guide. For annual flowers this is more, there we stick to a minimum of 8 hours of sun per day.

What soil?

Vegetables can basically be grown on any type of soil, but it varies for each type of vegetable how nutritious that soil needs to be. You can find more information about this in the description.

Seediguide

Never seeded before? We'll get you started with a Sowing Guide explaining the basics and supplies.

Storing seeds

On the package of your seeds you will find the shelf life. You can use them until the date you see on it. An opened package is best stored in an airtight box in a cool and dark place, such as a closet in the hallway. Not sure if the germination is still good? Then it's best to buy a new pack. We deliberately choose small amounts of seeds in the packs so you don't have to waste seeds. Do you have any questions about this? Call 033 - 202 43 38 or email to [email protected], and we will help you further.
