Sustainability

We try to produce as sustainably as possible to keep our footprint small. Therefore, our letterbox boxes are made of grass paper and tomato leaf pulp is the basic component of the seed bags. The printing is either made of paper that is 30-70% recycled paper or paper that comes from agricultural waste. In addition, you have the option to plant a tree when you place an order through Regreener.

Gifting

Is (part of) your order a gift for someone? Mention it in the comments and we will wrap it nicely for you.

Organic

This is an organic product from certified organic producers. Among other things, this means that they do not work with pesticides. The control regarding organic products is carried out by the SKAL.

Pre-sowing -

Direct sowing March - September
Harvest May - October

Indoor pre-sowing
Pre-sowing can be done in seed trays with sections of about 6 - 8 cm. Use sowing soil and place in a cool place. A cold container or unheated greenhouse is best. Plant out from April onwards.

Direct Sowing
Sow directly in the open ground between March and August. Thin out to a distance of 20 cm. Fertilize the soil only in advance, during growth this is no longer necessary. Make sure the soil does not dry out. You can harvest leaves from the plant once every 2 - 3 weeks until autumn. Young leaves are finer and can be eaten as lettuce. Larger leaves can be blanched or stir-fried.

About vegetable seeds

All vegetable seeds are annuals, meaning you have to re-sow them every year, except for hardy herbs. Rosemary, thyme, sage and fennel generally survive the winter just fine.

How many hours of sunshine?

Vegetables generally like to grow in full sun. A minimum of 6 hours of sun in summer is a good guide. For annual flowers this is more, there we stick to a minimum of 8 hours of sun per day.

What soil?

Vegetables can basically be grown on any type of soil, but it varies for each type of vegetable how nutritious that soil needs to be. You can find more information about this in the description.

Seediguide

Never seeded before? We'll get you started with a Sowing Guide explaining the basics and supplies.

Storing seeds

On the package of your seeds you will find the shelf life. You can use them until the date you see on it. An opened package is best stored in an airtight box in a cool and dark place, such as a closet in the hallway. Not sure if the germination is still good? Then it's best to buy a new pack. We deliberately choose small amounts of seeds in the packs so you don't have to waste seeds. Do you have any questions about this? Call 033 - 202 43 38 or email to [email protected], and we will help you further.
