Sustainability

We try to produce as sustainably as possible to keep our footprint small. Therefore, our letterbox boxes are made of grass paper and tomato leaf pulp is the basic component of the seed bags. The printing is either made of paper that is 30-70% recycled paper or paper that comes from agricultural waste. In addition, you have the option to plant a tree when you place an order through Regreener.

Gifting

Is (part of) your order a gift for someone? Mention it in the comments and we will wrap it nicely for you.

Pimpinella major (that is, the common version) is native. This pink cultivar is not, but it is an insane addition to your garden. The umbels have a beautiful color that lasts a long time as the blooms continue throughout the summer. Also beautiful as a pick flower, of course.

Pre-seeding
Direct seeding is the easiest way, but indoor pre-sowing is also possible. The seeds need heat and then cold to germinate. Mix the seeds with a handful of vermiculite and place the mixture in a ziplock bag. Place in a warm place above 20 degrees and move to the refrigerator after 3 weeks for the cold period. After 8 weeks, remove from the refrigerator and sow in a seed tray with seedling soil. Put in a spot where it is 18 - 20 degrees and transplant to a P9 pot when seedlings are large enough. Transplant from mid-May in a spot in full sun or partial shade in fertile soil.

Direct seeding
Sow directly into the ground in early fall in a well-loosened seedbed. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. The warmth of autumn and then the cold of winter will provide ideal germination conditions. Thin out in spring if necessary to a distance of 30 cm.

About vegetable seeds

All vegetable seeds are annuals, meaning you have to re-sow them every year, except for hardy herbs. Rosemary, thyme, sage and fennel generally survive the winter just fine.

How many hours of sunshine?

Vegetables generally like to grow in full sun. A minimum of 6 hours of sun in summer is a good guide. For annual flowers this is more, there we stick to a minimum of 8 hours of sun per day.

What soil?

Vegetables can basically be grown on any type of soil, but it varies for each type of vegetable how nutritious that soil needs to be. You can find more information about this in the description.

Seediguide

Never seeded before? We'll get you started with a Sowing Guide explaining the basics and supplies.

Storing seeds

On the package of your seeds you will find the shelf life. You can use them until the date you see on it. An opened package is best stored in an airtight box in a cool and dark place, such as a closet in the hallway. Not sure if the germination is still good? Then it's best to buy a new pack. We deliberately choose small amounts of seeds in the packs so you don't have to waste seeds. Do you have any questions about this? Call 033 - 202 43 38 or email to [email protected], and we will help you further.
