Sustainability

We try to produce as sustainably as possible to keep our footprint small. Therefore, our letterbox boxes are made of grass paper and tomato leaf pulp is the basic component of the seed bags. The printing is either made of paper that is 30-70% recycled paper or paper that comes from agricultural waste. In addition, you have the option to plant a tree when you place an order through Regreener.

Gifting

Is (part of) your order a gift for someone? Mention it in the comments and we will wrap it nicely for you.

Native

Native plants are native to our country. Plants from here can only be native if they have not been "played with," i.e., they must not have been grown on. Native planting is important for our biodiversity. Insects depend on them.

Red clover is one of the most important native wild plants our country has. White clover grows naturally in your turf when you stop mowing, but red clover could use some help. Sow in your vegetable garden or use an empty patch to let it grow wild. The bees and butterflies will thank you. You can also use red clover as a green manure crop, see instructions below.

Pre-seeding
Pre-sow in a sowing tray with moist seedling soil mixed with 1/3rd part vermiculite. Barely cover the seeds with vermiculite. Water from below. Put a cover on the sowing tray and close the air window to increase humidity. Seeds germinate within 2 - 4 weeks at 20 degrees. Transplant to P9 pot when seedlings are about 5 - 10 cm tall. Harden off and transplant starting in mid-May in a sunny spot. Use this method only if you want to use the plants as picking flowers or insect plants. As a green manure crop, direct sowing is better.

Direct seeding
Sow directly in a well-loosened seedbed. To use as a green manure crop follow these instructions: sow widely, as soon as plants are about to flower cut up the whole plant and mix with soil. Leave for at least a month for the plants to break down into organic matter. This way, stored nitrogen is slowly released into the soil. The bag contains enough for 5 m2. Divide the amount per m2 first before you start sowing.

About vegetable seeds

All vegetable seeds are annuals, meaning you have to re-sow them every year, except for hardy herbs. Rosemary, thyme, sage and fennel generally survive the winter just fine.

How many hours of sunshine?

Vegetables generally like to grow in full sun. A minimum of 6 hours of sun in summer is a good guide. For annual flowers this is more, there we stick to a minimum of 8 hours of sun per day.

What soil?

Vegetables can basically be grown on any type of soil, but it varies for each type of vegetable how nutritious that soil needs to be. You can find more information about this in the description.

Seediguide

Never seeded before? We'll get you started with a Sowing Guide explaining the basics and supplies.

Storing seeds

On the package of your seeds you will find the shelf life. You can use them until the date you see on it. An opened package is best stored in an airtight box in a cool and dark place, such as a closet in the hallway. Not sure if the germination is still good? Then it's best to buy a new pack. We deliberately choose small amounts of seeds in the packs so you don't have to waste seeds. Do you have any questions about this? Call 033 - 202 43 38 or email to [email protected], and we will help you further.
