Sustainability

We try to produce as sustainably as possible to keep our footprint small. Therefore, our letterbox boxes are made of grass paper and tomato leaf pulp is the basic component of the seed bags. The printing is either made of paper that is 30-70% recycled paper or paper that comes from agricultural waste. In addition, you have the option to plant a tree when you place an order through Regreener.

Gifting

Is (part of) your order a gift for someone? Mention it in the comments and we will wrap it nicely for you.

Native

Native plants are native to our country. Plants from here can only be native if they have not been "played with," i.e., they must not have been grown on. Native planting is important for our biodiversity. Insects depend on them.

Did you know that marshmallows are made from the roots of marshmallow? Then you immediately know that you can eat this native plant, not necessarily the roots, but the flowers. This plant grows large and looks a bit like a Hibiscus or butterfly bush. The flowers are a beautiful soft purple and attract all kinds of insects.

Pre-sowing February - May

Direct sowing February - April
Flowering time July
 - September

Indoor pre-seeding
Pre-sowing can be done in spring. Sow a few seeds 2 cm apart in moist sowing soil mixed with vermiculite. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of vermiculite. Place in an area of 15 - 21 degrees, the seeds will germinate within two weeks if all goes well. Prick out to a P9 pot when the seedlings have more than two sets of leaves and continue to grow. Hardening off and transplanting in full ground can be done from mid-May, early June with a distance of 50 - 80 cm. The plant grows large, like a butterfly bush.

Direct sowing
Sow directly into the soil between February and April. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. Do not do this during heavy rain or on hot days to prevent the seed from washing away or drying out. Keep the soil moist. Dun possibly to a distance of 50 - 80 cm between each seed.

About vegetable seeds

All vegetable seeds are annuals, meaning you have to re-sow them every year, except for hardy herbs. Rosemary, thyme, sage and fennel generally survive the winter just fine.

How many hours of sunshine?

Vegetables generally like to grow in full sun. A minimum of 6 hours of sun in summer is a good guide. For annual flowers this is more, there we stick to a minimum of 8 hours of sun per day.

What soil?

Vegetables can basically be grown on any type of soil, but it varies for each type of vegetable how nutritious that soil needs to be. You can find more information about this in the description.

Seediguide

Never seeded before? We'll get you started with a Sowing Guide explaining the basics and supplies.

Storing seeds

On the package of your seeds you will find the shelf life. You can use them until the date you see on it. An opened package is best stored in an airtight box in a cool and dark place, such as a closet in the hallway. Not sure if the germination is still good? Then it's best to buy a new pack. We deliberately choose small amounts of seeds in the packs so you don't have to waste seeds. Do you have any questions about this? Call 033 - 202 43 38 or email to [email protected], and we will help you further.
