Sustainability
Sustainability
We try to produce as sustainably as possible to keep our footprint small. Therefore, our letterbox boxes are made of grass paper and tomato leaf pulp is the basic component of the seed bags. The printing is either made of paper that is 30-70% recycled paper or paper that comes from agricultural waste. In addition, you have the option to plant a tree when you place an order through Regreener.

You may not immediately think of dill as a picking flower, but once the herb shoots through and starts making umbelliferous flowers you will think otherwise! A bit finer in texture than flowering fennel and therefore beautiful in small vases. Or just to eat of course, can also.

Flowering time June - September
Indoor pre-seeding
Pre-sow from February, repot once seedlings are 15 cm tall. Dill germinates too quickly in high temperatures, so make sure they have a cool room. After germination, keep them in a bright spot but away from direct sunlight in a room of about 15 degrees. Transplant in April or May.
Direct seeding
Sow directly into the soil starting in March. Cover with a thin layer of soil. Do not do this during heavy rain or on hot days to prevent the seed from washing away or drying out. Keep the soil moist. After germination, thin out to single seedlings 25 cm apart.
About vegetable seeds
About vegetable seeds
All vegetable seeds are annuals, meaning you have to re-sow them every year, except for hardy herbs. Rosemary, thyme, sage and fennel generally survive the winter just fine.
How many hours of sunshine?
How many hours of sunshine?
Vegetables generally like to grow in full sun. A minimum of 6 hours of sun in summer is a good guide. For annual flowers this is more, there we stick to a minimum of 8 hours of sun per day.
What soil?
What soil?
Vegetables can basically be grown on any type of soil, but it varies for each type of vegetable how nutritious that soil needs to be. You can find more information about this in the description.

Storing seeds
Storing seeds
On the package of your seeds you will find the shelf life. You can use them until the date you see on it. An opened package is best stored in an airtight box in a cool and dark place, such as a closet in the hallway. Not sure if the germination is still good? Then it's best to buy a new pack. We deliberately choose small amounts of seeds in the packs so you don't have to waste seeds. Do you have any questions about this? Call 033 - 202 43 38 or email to [email protected], and we will help you further.
