Sustainability

We try to produce as sustainably as possible to keep our footprint small. Therefore, our letterbox boxes are made of grass paper and tomato leaf pulp is the basic component of the seed bags. The printing is either made of paper that is 30-70% recycled paper or paper that comes from agricultural waste. In addition, you have the option to plant a tree when you place an order through Regreener.

Gifting

Is (part of) your order a gift for someone? Mention it in the comments and we will wrap it nicely for you.

Organic

This is an organic product from certified organic producers. Among other things, this means that they do not work with pesticides. The control regarding organic products is carried out by the SKAL.

Nigella (damsel in green) is always good. The flower is unique, especially the varieties we offer here. Nigella 'Albion Green Pod' gets beautiful large seed pods that last a long time. You can dry these and use them in dried bouquets or dried wreaths, but if you keep picking well they will also continue to bloom, albeit a bit smaller in the second round. Do sow on time so they don't stay too small, sowing in autumn gives larger flowers. Organically grown.

Pre-seeding
 March - April
Direct seeding March - May / September - November
Flowering time
June - September

Indoor pre-seeding
Vear can be sown directly into P9 pots in mid-March so you don't have to prick out. Use airy potting soil mixed with a large proportion of vermiculite. Do not cover the seeds, they need light to germinate. Put in a room of 18 - 20 degrees but not in direct sunlight. Put cooler after the first seeds germinate. Harden off outside and transplant after the last night frost with a distance of 30 cm.

Direct Sowing
Sow directly into the ground from March to May or in the fall for flowering the following year. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. Do not do this during heavy rain or on hot days to prevent the seed from washing away or drying out. Keep the soil moist. Thin out the seedlings to a distance of 30 cm. Sow again if necessary for a longer harvest.

About vegetable seeds

All vegetable seeds are annuals, meaning you have to re-sow them every year, except for hardy herbs. Rosemary, thyme, sage and fennel generally survive the winter just fine.

How many hours of sunshine?

Vegetables generally like to grow in full sun. A minimum of 6 hours of sun in summer is a good guide. For annual flowers this is more, there we stick to a minimum of 8 hours of sun per day.

What soil?

Vegetables can basically be grown on any type of soil, but it varies for each type of vegetable how nutritious that soil needs to be. You can find more information about this in the description.

Seediguide

Never seeded before? We'll get you started with a Sowing Guide explaining the basics and supplies.

Storing seeds

On the package of your seeds you will find the shelf life. You can use them until the date you see on it. An opened package is best stored in an airtight box in a cool and dark place, such as a closet in the hallway. Not sure if the germination is still good? Then it's best to buy a new pack. We deliberately choose small amounts of seeds in the packs so you don't have to waste seeds. Do you have any questions about this? Call 033 - 202 43 38 or email to [email protected], and we will help you further.
